Tonic vs. Toner

Hmmm….Tonic vs Toner?
I thought they were one and the same. Take a peek at the skin care on the bathroom sink or in your shower. Are you using Toner? Or is it Tonic?
Well that is what I thought at one time. Here is what I have learned.
Here is the difference:
- Toner is used to restore the pH balance after using the cleanser in a skin care system. That is because the most common pH in cleansers is 7.5 and our skin pH is 5.5. The skin care system with Toner is needed to bring down that pH and make the skin happier.
- Toner also washes away excess cleanser, clears debris from pores.
- Tonic also washes away excess cleanser and clears debris from pores….but no need to reduce the pH as all TrūAura products have a skin identical pH so there is no reason to pull the skin back to a more acidic state or lower pH.
- TrūAura uses Phytic Acid - A naturally derived ingredient sourced from rice. Is a great alternative to alpha hydroxy acids, which can be irritating to the skin. Its unique, self-neutralizing activity provides a gentle exfoliating effect to aid in skin cell turn-over and renewal.
Tonic is a very important step in your skin care routine. Savor the wonderful feeling of your TrūAura Tonic.
