The fact that more than 5 years after BeautiControl closed people still ask, "What happened to BeautiControl (or what happened to Beauty Control)?" is a testament to how great their products were. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions for me. While the announcement was made July 20^th, I was busy caring for my elderly mother and was unaware of Tupperware’s decision to close their BeautiControl company. 

Since Jim and I wanted to go on a little picnic for our 44^th wedding anniversary that Saturday in July, I was working with the care center nurse to be sure Mother was okay if we treated ourselves to a quiet weekend at home.

The phone rang early that next Monday morning and within an hour of my arrival, Mother passed away July 24, 2017. It shocked the nurses as Mother was cracking jokes only the previous evening at supper time.  It was as if she had waited for us to enjoy our anniversary.

On the heels of my loss, the next day I learned that BeautiControl had closed and my business had disintegrated.

BeautiControl closed its doors August 31, 2017. Officially my contract as a BeautiControl consultant had ended. 

Why BeautiControl Products Were Amazing

One thing that convinced me to become a BeautiControl consultant was the incredible products. Living with very sensitive skin, I am always on the lookout for quality ingredients that my skin loves.  While the Beauti Control branding changed, the bottles changed, products came and went, the quality and popularity of our line was never a question. We had the most variety, the most beautiful packaging, and the formulas were some of the best in the industry. The man behind those wonderful products was Gary Jones.

BeautiControl's Closure

BeautiControl had been in business for 35 years and at the time of closure, employed hundreds at the corporate offices, had 400 Directors and 50,000 consultants. 

Looking back, I have some wonderful memories of friends made, my “spa sisters”. Some of those friendships with fellow consultants continue as I grow my skin care business with TrūAura Beauty. I have wonderful clients who have trusted me over the years to bring them the best I know in skin care and cosmetics so they now use TrūAura Beauty and share my journey.

While working with BeautiControl, I learned how valuable Gary Jones is as Chief of Research & Development. Yep! He now develops our TrūAura Beauty Line. Gary's new products have been carefully crafted with natural yet potent ingredients such as aloe vera, chamomile, and green tea, which all have well-known skincare benefits. 

BeautiControl trainings still hold me in good stead as I honed my business skills. I was helped to develop my strengths and know my weaknesses. I learned to set goals and how to pace myself to achieve them.  I am so glad I worked with BeautiControl. That nine year journey gave me assets to bring to TrūAura as I work with my clients now and those I have yet to meet.

My New Journey with TrūAura Beauty

As they say, when one window closes, another one opens and that is what happened to me! The kick-off for TrūAura Beauty was December 2017. There were only 500 (5,000 wanted to attend) seats open to those who wanted to be founding consultants, and we had to qualify to attend by establishing clients ready to begin my TrūAura  journey with me in the new year when we launched. 

Did it happen? Yes! Thanks to many of my amazing clients who loved all the products that Gary Jones develops who wanted to stay with me. My clients and I have established a level of trust, customer service, and friendship over the years, making them willing to support me as TrūAura moved forward with the new product line! 

Fast forward from February 2018 to the present… starting a new year 2023… and we continue to enjoy simple, clean ingredients in the TrūAura Beauty brand. More and more individuals are becoming aware of the need to nurture their skin with pre & probiotics and microbiome clean ingredients. It is exciting to me to see individuals fall in love with their results using TrūAura.
